Chuck
Gunther, Senior Equity Research Analyst
Chuck has 42 years of professional experience in research,
institutional sales, and investment banking. Prior to joining Farmhouse
Equity Research, LLC in 2004, Chuck spent 12 years with Wells Fargo
Securities, LLC and its predecessors, first in institutional sales,
then, later, as Senior Equity Research Analyst for financial and
business services. Previously, Mr. Gunther served as Director of
Research at Pacific Securities, a division of R.C. Brown & Co.,
preceded by 20 years in the international arena as partner, principal
and director of international equity sales with several distinguished
firms including Montgomery Securities, Shuman, Agnew, and Woodman,
Kirkpatrick & Gilbreath. Mr. Gunther also spent 11 years in New
York at G.H. Walker and G.H. Walker, Laird. He is a past President
of the Wall Street International Association.
Prior to entering the securities industry, Mr. Gunther spent five
years with IBM Corp and IBM World Trade Corp. in data processing
and sales management. He also spent four years working for Radio
Free Europe in Munich, Germany as an Assistant Political Advisor
providing guidance for the Czechoslovak Desk, and analysis of related
political developments.
Mr. Gunther attended the Thacher School and Williams College, and
received his BA from Stanford University in 1950 in Political Science.
He served in the US Army in 1951, and did graduate work in finance
at New York University School of Business. Mr. Gunther lives in the
Pacific Heights area of San Francisco, is married with two grown
children, and in his spare time avidly pursues fly-fishing, wing-shooting,
skiing and squash, as well as reading modern history.
